Nurse Practitioners now play a huge role in treating a variety of medical conditions. Many people, however, don’t know exactly what a Nurse Practitioner does or how one can help them. So exactly what is a nurse practitioner?
A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse, or RN, who has received additional training and certifications in a particular area of medical practice. In fact, they have a Master’s Degree, known as an MSN, and must be board-certified. NP’s work under the supervision of a Medical Doctor. Together, the pair works to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions and illnesses.
Because of their degree of knowledge, Nurse Practitioners are able to see you and your family for regular medical appointments.
For example, do you need your yearly physical? Make an appointment with an NP!
Experiencing cold or flu symptoms? An NP can treat you!
